Excited to receive the above pen in record time. Absolutely delighted with it The colour is eye catching and glints in strong light. I originally opted for the lever fill pen, but was able to change my order for a cartridge converter pen with added weight as I thought the lever fill pen would be too light as I prefer a weigher fountain pen. The nib I opted for was a broad stub is excellent and glides smoothly with perfect ink flow. This is the first fountain pen I have with a screw on cap which takes some getting used to. In the same order I also purchased a Conway Stewart desk tray, ink, and a Conway Stewart luxury notebook, which enhanced the excitement of my purchase.
Initially I was very pleased with the pen, particularly the smoothness of the nib and ink flow. The only problem I've found is the pencap. I've never owned a fountain pen with a screw on cap. When using the pen with the cap on the barrel, which I always do, the cap sometimes drops off. I've previously owned Parker and Sheaffer fountain pens which clip on securely to both ends. I am sure part of the problem is the weight of the cap. I prefer to use a heavy pen. T
I ordered the extra fine nib. When I received it and tried using it. I was surprised at how soft and clear my writing was. I noticed that I could write comfortably and smoothly without getting stunk on the paper. I can write comfortably forever. Thank you.
Conway Stewart has the classiest, most attractive desk pens on the market. That you can get them in lever fill? In a world cartridge converters and pistons? Priceless. This one has an architects grin on the nib - and they did a great job with that difficult grind. Lots of line variation, and smoother than an architect's grind has any business being. Their Honey Noire is second only to the Walnut. Just a lovely desk pen.
The pen feels and writes beautifully! I love everything about the pen but one detail that I requested be addressed when I placed the order, the lever fill and the clip are not in alignment. This is a detail I feel should be addressed on a pen of this quality and expense.—lt
