History
On 2nd January 1849, an enterprising 17 year old Pol Roger made his first sale of wine; 175 years later, the same family operate the House and winery. Champagne Pol Roger received its first Royal Warrant in 1877 to the Royal Households of Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales. Further warrants were awarded by King George V in 1912, King George VI in 1947, and most recently Queen Elizabeth II.
Having purchased Pol Roger for the first time in 1908, Winston Churchill would become a life long fan, and friend of the family. Winston Churchill love the Champagne so much, he named his race horse "Pol Roger".
